About us

Job Purpose

To provide internal and external advice and guidance regarding the potential impact of electricity transmission assets on the environment and the technical issues associated with operating assets in proximity to third parties.

Key Accountabilities

  • Respond to complex technical queries and requests for information regarding assets including the operation of a public helpline.
  • Ensure appropriate expert and timely advice is provided to the public regarding the impact of our assets on public amenity health and the environment.
  • Ensure technical compliance with business processes.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholder on the environmental impact of existing and new assets including the preparation of environmental impact reports.
  • Ensure such advice takes due account of latest international understanding by monitoring emerging international research.
  • Represent National Grid directly with the public regarding environmental issues.

Supervisory/Interpersonal Experience Required

  • Experience of public communications and the ability to empathise in the face of public concern.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a numerate subject
  • IAM Certificate preferred
