The Strategy Group partners with leaders of business lines to articulate strategic roadmaps and business plans and drives strategic evaluations and analyses that seek to tackle Wellingtons most pressing business challenges. The Group is critical to Wellingtons ability to lean into growth and innovation scale delivery and enhance the pace and efficiency of strategic decision making as the business rapidly grows both in size and complexity. The Program Leader will report to the Head of Strategy and will work on initiatives to develop and embed longterm strategies focused on growth innovation and evolution of our business. The Program Leader will help define and track overall project plans and assume endtoend responsibility for large and complex workstreams within a project to drive outcomes. They will work closely with key stakeholders/subject matter experts to conduct research understand issues develop new solutions & strategies for change and create buyin for recommendations to complex and cuttingedge challenges facing our clients and firm. Over time they will develop repeatable playbook and templates to embed an institutionalize this practice for the firm.
THE ROLE
Essential responsibilities and expectations of the Program Leader include but are not limited to:
Play a pivotal role in crossfunctional teams to solve complex challenges across various business lines to manage a portfolio of strategic projects.
Act as a thought partner to the Head of Strategy Group to help shape the scope and approach to each project
Develop and own end to end project plans for one or more initiatives at a time
Lead key workstreams autonomously ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
Collaborate with and across divisions /regions to evaluate the intersections and complexities of a project across business lines markets and clients and shape recommendations for forward investment
Manage regular cadence of communication to all stakeholders
Craft indepth analyses using advanced tools and techniques to drive sophisticated hypothesis generation.
Thoughtfully distill and communicate insights steering decisions for often ambiguous complex opportunities
Develop constructs that frame key issues propose factbased recommendations and assess trade offs
Challenge work in progress results and reorient any analyses if needed
Support the and implementation of insights and recommendations
SKILLSET/QUALIFICATIONS
7 years of experience in the asset management industry; Indepth knowledge of financial markets (public and private) and a strong understanding of the investment business (across client/investment/commercial lenses) via direct experience will be critical to the success of this role. Prior Investment Banking or Strategy/Management consulting will be considered additive.
Strong understanding of the industry structural trends and competitive landscape
Possess or have the ability to quickly learn Wellingtons investment capabilities/content
Exceptional complex project management skills and ability to develop frameworks for projects
Strategic mindset critical thinker creative problem solver
Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to figure things out on the field
Strong management and communication skills. The ability to bring together all stakeholders and persuade senior leaders to take action is essential
Strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative) and a high capacity for conceptual thinking.
Agility in shifting between projects and teams.
Demonstrated leadership in diverse group settings and adaptability to evolving project landscapes.
Exceptional time management and communication skills
