Position Overview

The Senior Global Desktop Engineer is a senior technical position responsible for monitoring managing and troubleshooting an organizations enduser computing systems across the FDB. This role is centered on delivering Level 2 and Level 3 support which includes addressing the most complex technical issues that Level 1 support cannot resolve.

In this role you will provide essential technical guidance and expertise diagnosing and resolving highlevel technical challenges across a wide range of technologies. This process involves analyzing inquiries identifying the appropriate technical areas or vendors to address problems consulting with managers and colleagues on action plans and serving as the final point of escalation within the organization.

Job Description

As the Senior Desktop Engineer in our Global IT deparment you will be in a pivotal role in maintaining the organizations desktop systems cultivating a welltrained technical team and ensuring a high quality user experience on a global scale.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Project and Quality Assurance: They are responsible for participating in technical projects ensuring they are executed efficiently and meet the organizations quality standards 30

  • Technical Guidance and Issue Resolution: As the ultimate point of escalation within the business the Senior Global Desktop Engineer is accountable for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues across a variety of technologies 20

  • Training and Mentoring: This role is responsible for training and mentoring other Global Desktop Engineers. This involves imparting critical technical knowledge and skills enabling them to effectively address and resolve technical issues independently 20

  • Client build Software deployment and patch management Ensure software deployment patch management. Ensure asset management of client hardware 20

  • Knowledge Base Management: The SR Global Desktop Engineer is accountable for leading the creation and upkeep of the organizations knowledge base. This involves documenting solutions to common issues establishing best practices and developing enduser support and training materials 10

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in IT Computer Science or other related discipline
  • 5 years of work experience in SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) and MS365 Administration
  • Proven experience in scripting in powershell
  • Proven experience with various operating systems specifically Microsoft Windows 10 with ability to handle intricate OS issues
  • Proven experience with GPO Active Directory
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining training and development material for IT teams

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Suite Proficiency: Administrative knowledge of Microsoft OfficeOffice 365 Teams and Cloudbased phone systems.

  • ITSM Knowledge: A solid understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) practices and principles which facilitate effective IT service delivery.

  • Hardware Expertise: Excellent knowledge of computer hardware including PCs network printers and more enabling swift hardwarerelated problem

    resolution.

  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a serviceminded approach. Must be a team player and a good communicator

    in English both verbally and in writing.

  • Analytical and ProblemSolving Skills: Ability to perform an analytical and methodical approach to IT incidents and requests with proven problem

    solving skills to resolve complex technical issues.

  • User Interaction: Demonstrated experience working closely with end users to manage issues and requests as they arise with a strong emphasis on

    customer service and satisfaction.

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively within diverse teams and contribute to a cooperative

    work environment.

  • SelfMotivated and Resourceful: Demonstrates a selfmotivated and resourceful mindset with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highpressure environment maintaining a high sense of responsibility and a strong service mindset.

As the Senior Desktop Engineer you will also train and mentor other Global Desktop Engineers sharing knowledge and enhacing their skills to ensure they can effectively resolve technical issues. This includes leading the development and maintenance of the organizations knowledge base as well as creating enduser support and training documentation.

You will also engage in project and quality assurance administering support processes and procedures and overseeing client builds software deployment and patch management. You will also ensure the effective asset management of client hardware and document all relevant processes and procedures.

FDBU works with technical data technology and materials that are subject to U.S. export laws and regulations. This position will require access to technical data technology and source code that is controlled under U.S. export laws and regulations including but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations at 22 C.F.R. Parts 120 130 and Export Administration Regulations in 15 C.F.R. Part 730 774 as may be amended. To conform to these laws and regulations applicants must be U.S. citizens lawful permanent residents of the U.S. protected individuals as defined by 8 USC 1324(b)(a)3 (i.e. asylees and refugees) or otherwise eligible for an export authorization from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.
