General Summary
Under general supervision by the Assistant Library Director provides assistance in support of adult and seniors collection development programming eventsand delivery of services. Will require up to 2 weekend shifts per month.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Adult Services Librarian Essential Duties
- Plans develops and implements adult or senior ageappropriate programs and services
- Prepares crafts for programs
- Plans and develops and executes any special event program such as summer reading
- Responsible for collection management of adults collection including evaluating donated items materials and resources selection ordering processing cataloging and weeding in accordance with librarys mission and prevailing practices
- Provides readers advisory and information services for adultsand seniors
- Conducts and coordinates outreach services in the community such coffee with fire/pd chief and community groups regarding library and adult services such as Rotary Club Chamber of Commerce etc.
- Prepares monthly statistics to be included in the library board report
- Assists in pursuing grants
- Helps keep accurate counts of library program attendance
- Prepares appealing promotional materials including but not limited to slides presentations brochures fliers calendars charts and graphs articles videos and social media content
- Supports the librarys fundraising efforts
- Updates diversifies and creates brochures for reading lists
- Purchasing and budgeting for programming supplies as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned

- May travel to attend meetings conferences and training
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours is essential
Minimum Qualifications
- Education and Experience
- Masters Degree from a college or university is required.
- Knowledge and experience using an automated library system and databases preferred.
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Word Excel and Publisher preferred.
- Cash Handling experience.
- Previous Customer Service experience.
OR
- Any combination of education and experience would provide the applicant with the desired skills knowledge and ability required to perform the job.
- Ability to speak Spanish is desired but not required.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Policies and procedures of department;
- Basic principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation
- Principles and practices of mail collection and distribution
- Basic mathematical principles
- English usage spelling grammar and punctuation
- Principles and procedures of filing
- Modern office procedures methods and computer equipment
- Typing and/or word processing techniques
- Current trends in library services for and with adults and seniors
Skills in:
- General office procedures and in the operation of standard office equipment including but not limited to phone system fax machine copy machine computer keyboard and Microsoft Office (i.e. Word Excel Outlook);

- Observation to read sort and shelve library materials and maintain catalogrecords

- Work assigned schedule without assistance; may be required to work at least 2 Saturdays per month
