Job Description
WXII/WCWG TV is looking for a Local News Executive Producer (EP) who can be a strong leader in the newsroom and oversee newscasts. You will manage coach and motivate a team of producers reporters anchors editors and photojournalists who strive for excellence. You must be an effective communicator and make decisions under deadline pressure that contribute to the success of the product. As Executive Producer you must have a solid producing background strong news judgement and ethical integrity. The Executive Producer will work closely with other news managers help recruit new producers and help the employees they supervise be successful. You will report to the News Director.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the preparation of a rundown and scripts for the newscasts
- Oversight of the use of graphics and presentation
- Coaching producers reporters editors and photojournalists
- Reacting to breaking news on all platforms
- Producing newscasts when needed
- Posting content to all digital platforms
- Must perform administrative duties including scheduling performance reviews training and providing critical feedback
- Communicating effectively with news staff promotions and production/engineering
- Inperson attendance is required
Requirements
- Three years producing experience
- Possess outstanding communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Creative presentation style and ability to showcase all resources and elements
- Related military experience and/or training will be considered
