Job Description
A metal fabrication company in St. Paul has an opening for a Machine Operator which includes the operation of Roll Bending Tube Bending Shearing Brake Forming Sawing and Plate Rolling. Responsibilities The Operator is responsible for machine setup and run time. The candidate is responsible for the inspection of parts and routine maintenance of equipment. Requirements The preferred candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a metal fabrication environment. Candidates lacking specific experience are encouraged to apply. If this is the case they must show mechanical aptitude and interest in longterm employment. People who took shop classes in high school tech school auto mechanics and general background in machine shop settings. Candidate must be able to read blueprints have working knowledge of arithmetic algebra and geometry and have an understanding of metal shapes and alloys. The person will start as a contract employee through Hire Standards and ideally be hired after the 13 week contract term as a fulltime internal employee with the company.
