This role involves underwriting new business opportunities building relationships with retail agents and facilitating coverage solutions that align with carrier guidelines and market conditions.
Responsibilities:
Underwriting New Business:
- Evaluate price and structure insurance coverage for new business submissions.
- Ensure compliance with carrier guidelines regulations and company policies.
- Assess risks and provide competitive solutions tailored to client needs.
Agent Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail agents.
- Provide guidance on market conditions and coverage options.
- Act as a resource for agents helping them navigate complex risks.
Carrier Relationships:
- Collaborate with carriers to negotiate terms secure competitive pricing and obtain necessary approvals.
- Stay informed about carrier appetite products and underwriting updates.
New Business Development:
- Identify opportunities to grow the book of business by prospecting new retail agent relationships.
- Develop and execute strategies to drive profitable growth.
- Conduct training sessions and presentations to educate agents on products and services.
Market Expertise:
- Stay updated on industry trends regulatory changes and emerging risks.
- Provide insights to retail agents and carriers to maintain a competitive edge.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven underwriting experience in commercial insurance preferably in a wholesale environment.
- Strong analytical and decisionmaking skills.
- Excellent communication and relationshipbuilding abilities.
- Knowledge of carrier markets and appetite.
- Proficiency in insurance systems and software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
