The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Vice Chair for Radiology Clinical IT and Informatics. This role combines expertise in radiology and informatics to lead the development implementation and optimization of IT systems that support radiologists and streamline imaging and diagnostic workflows. Key responsibilities include advancing IT solutions to enhance clinical efficiency improving patient outcomes evaluating and implementing new IT and AI technologies and ensuring compliance with healthcare IT standards. This position serves as a leader and innovator at the intersection of radiology informatics and healthcare technology. The ViceChair will be a member of the departments leadership team working closely with and guiding the radiology IT director. The role reports directly to the department chair and will act as a liaison to health system IT leadership and other stakeholders such as cardiology and various clinical departments. This is a fulltime position 1.0 FTE with an initial allocation of 40 of the time dedicated to the Vice Chair role subject to negotiation. The faculty appointment rank will be commensurate with the candidates academic record and experience. Qualifications : The candidate must be ABR boardcertified and subspecialty fellowshiptrained (or possess equivalent training). A current appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher along with a minimum of five years of leadership experience in radiology IT is required. The ideal candidate should have comprehensive expertise in all aspects of radiology IT informatics and AI as well as an indepth understanding of health system IT. Outstanding interpersonal skills are essential for this role. Additionally the candidate should demonstrate strong clinical and academic interests along with a proven track record of academic productivity. Facilities : You will work in stateoftheart facilities that support a robust clinical educational and research environment. The Department provides clinical services at the University Hospital Huntsman Cancer Hospital an NCI designated premier cancer center and multiple outpatient centers throughout the Wasatch Front. The PACS and Radiology Information System are managed within the Department and the hospitals and clinics utilize the EPIC electronic medical record EHR system. Our health system offers extensive imaging resources including multiple MRI scanners digital PET CT scanners and SPECT CT scanners. The Departments research arm the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research UCAIR provides access to expertise in imaging sciences physics and engineering and manages four researchdedicated MRI scanners. Preclinical imaging resources such as micro PET MRI micro SPECT CT micro PET and 7T MRI are available at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and the main campus. A leader in quality care the University of Utah Hospital and Clinics have been ranked in the top 10 in Quality Safety and Accountability among all academic medical centers for the past ten years in a row.
