RDO Junior/Senior International Ambassador

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 38000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

The Board conducts intentional recruitment and selection as it seeks to achieve a state of greater equity for employees and students and to diversify its workforce.

General Description of Duties:

  • Promote the values mission and vision of WCDSB focusing on providing a safe environment for students to grow physically emotionally and socially.
  • Set a positive example by exhibiting exemplary behavior and actively encouraging participation and enthusiasm among students.
  • Actively engage in and support a variety of activities both onsite and offsite promoting creativity inclusivity and personal growth.
  • Ensure the safety wellbeing and inclusion of all participants through constant supervision and accountability.
  • Foster a cooperative and positive environment by building strong relationships with students staff and parents and addressing concerns or issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with other team members to design coordinate and implement creative and engaging programs.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model supporting the leadership and personal development of participants.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability contributing to the success of the program and assisting with various tasks as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with fellow staff members and program coordinators to maintain structure and ensure a positive experience for all participants.
  • Encourage leadership teamwork and personal growth in students fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere.
  • Address any concerns related to participants promoting diversity growth and inclusion.
  • Be proactive solutionoriented and committed to maintaining a high standard of professionalism and care.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours including mornings evenings weekends and holidays while maintaining enthusiasm and a strong work ethic.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 18 years of age or over.
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Criminal Reference Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening issued no later than three 3 months preceding start date.
Desirable Assets:
  • Enthusiasm for working with youth of all ages.
  • Leadership experience that ensures program quality and the delivery of excellent service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate dedicated and determined.
  • Proactive reliable and safety conscious
  • Second language is an asset (please indicate on resume).
  • National Lifeguarding Certificate
  • Standard First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
Hourly Rate: $19.00 $21.00 per hour plus vacation pay

Hours of Work :

Unity Camp & Spring Program April 28th to June 8th 20 to 44 hours a week.

**The Unity and Spring Residence Program is an overnight position in May. Applicants must be willing to live onsite at either the camp or residence for the duration of the program. Placement will be based on skills and qualifications.**

STEAM & English ESL Camp July 3rd to August 4th 20 to 44 hours a week Fall Homestay Program September to March hours will vary

Longterm Program Year round hours will vary
