Qualifications
  • A banquet server is responsible for providing highquality food and beverage service to guests during events such as weddings corporate events and other special occasions. The job description for a banquet server includes the following duties: Set up banquet tables chairs linens china and silverware according to the event plan and specifications. Greet guests as they arrive and direct them to their seats or tables. Take food and beverage orders and communicate them to the kitchen or bar staff. Serve food and beverages to guests ensuring that all courses are served in a timely and efficient manner. Monitor guest needs and ensure that they are attended to promptly and courteously. Remove dishes glassware and silverware from tables and transport them to the dishwashing area. Assist with cleaning and organizing the banquet room after the event. Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times and work as part of a team to ensure a successful event. To perform this job a banquet server should have excellent communication and customer service skills as well as the ability to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining attention to detail. The ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time may also be required. Prior experience in a banquet or restaurant setting is preferred but not required.
