Job Description

Qualifications:

Required Education: Bachelors degree AND:

  • 48 months of program development program management or related experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelors degree for a total of 96 months of related experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical: Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
  • Environmental: Standard Office Environment. Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. May be required to travel. May require contact with other departments and university officials.

Certifications or Licenses:

  • Valid Drivers License

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students faculty and staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations
  • Able to effectively evaluate projects/programs and produce comprehensive reports
  • Able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively
  • Strong initiative to solve problems
  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives.

Department Preferences

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelors or masters degree in human services social work public administration or a closely related field and 48 months of experience in project management leadership and supervision.

Experience:

  • Professional experience working with public sector or state government agencies.
  • Curriculum design development and evaluation (e.g. instructional design adult learning principles).
  • National federal legislation practices policies and initiatives for serving children youth and families.
  • Experience/understanding of the continuum of care.
  • Experience with the development and evaluation of trainers.
  • Experience collaborating with public and private child welfare and/or child and youthserving organizations.
  • Knowledge regarding environmental and relational permanency.
  • Data collection and management.
  • Regional or national conference planning and/or workshop presentation.
  • Program assessment and evaluation.
  • A combination of experience in any of the following areas:
  • Youth work (child welfare child/youth/family services juvenile justice treatment services).
  • Understanding service systems (mental health communitybased services child welfare education etc..
  • Training presentation and group facilitation.
  • Technical assistance and consultation.
  • Event planning and coordination.
  • Youth development and leadership activities.
  • Continuum of care for children and youth involved with the child welfare system.
  • Traumaresponsive service provision.
  • Services to foster healthy youth development.
  • Services to foster healthy life span development.
  • Supporting children youth and young adults in transition to adulthood.
  • Evidencebased and researchinformed practices.

  • Supervision leadership and project management skills.
  • Cultural humility and responsiveness knowledge and skills including understanding its relevance to training.

  • Working knowledge and skills with computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint).
  • Experience with online and blended learning development and delivery.

TheNational Resource Center for Youth Services (NRCYS)at theUniversityof Oklahoma(OU) has been improving theeffectiveness of human services for over 50 years. NRCYS provides training and technical assistance to programs in Oklahoma and nationally. Specializing in training andconsultationNRCYSis a leader in youth service philosophy best practices and youth engagement.

Position Summary

This position monitors coordinates and directs the daytoday obligations and personnel to ensure efficient and effective service delivery and operations directly related to the implementation of assigned projects and programs; uses independent judgment within the framework of the projects and programs and established policies in decisions affecting agency activities; and makes recommendations and assists in the formulation of agency objectives policies and plans.

A significant focus of this position will be generating new customers and coordinating the feebased training efforts of the NRCYS on a national level. This position also meets critical tasks associated with the OU Child Welfare Training Collaborative through a sponsored program agreement with the state of Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) to provide child welfare new Specialist training.
