Job Description

Early Intervention Mental Health Clinician

Parttime 64 hours F/N Maximumterm until June 30 2025

headspace service is operated by Samaritans Foundation and part of a national initiative to deliver improvements in the mental health social wellbeing and economic participation of young people aged 1225.

About the role:

Work in a passionate multidisciplinary team providing intake assessment brief interventions and referrals to support youth mental health. Youll also engage in community awareness activities and build strong service partnerships.

Mon & Tues: headspace Maitland 8:45 AM 5:15 PM)
Wed & Thurs: headspace Cessnock 8:45 AM 5:15 PM)

About you

  • Passionate about youth mental health
  • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration
  • Skilled in assessment intervention and referrals
  • Understanding and experience using clinical resources and community service networks
  • Experience in psychological practice in Child Adolescent and Family clinical services
  • Welldeveloped knowledge of diverse cultures and community needs

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary degree qualifications in Social Work Psychology Nursing or Occupational Therapy.
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • A demonstrated understanding of mental health issues affecting young people and their families and carers; best practice treatment options; support services; and comorbidities.
  • Demonstrated skills and understanding in working with young people experiencing mental health issues and their families to assess strengths and needs develop treatment plans collaboratively and support young people to engage in services at difficult times in their lives.
The successful applicant will possess or willingness to obtain the following: NSW Working with Children Check First aid & CPR certificate and undertake a preemployment functional medical.
