Job Description
This role will support the delivery of the Global Meetings and Events strategy by planning and overseeing preferred vendors to ensure seamless of highly complex events while fostering strong relationships with global teams and suppliers. As a people manager within the organization this role may have financial accountabilities and human resource responsibilities for assigned staff. This role MUST reside in Boston MA and be able to be onsite 3 days per week at our HQ in the Seaport. Relocation is provided.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Advanced project management skills managing multiple projects vendors and processes.
- Supports team leadership to develop processes set goals and manage team members
- Manages a team of employees; coordinates resources and sets priorities to meet operational objectives.
- Advanced meeting planning skills to plan and oversee complex high touch large meetings.
- Consult guide and navigate team members vendors and Business Owners through complex logistical planning adherence to HCP compliance and transfer of value meeting best practices and strategy collaboration with cross functional teams and expectation of deliverables.
- Identify and resolve daytoday and complex matters related to project requirements crossfunctional processes and vendor management operations.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with Business Owners and consult on meeting goals & objectives to provide strategic support solutions.
- Identify analyze and interpret data trends and prepare summary and data visualizations to support decisionmaking and process improvements.
- Stay up to date on industry trends including hospitality travel audio visual/production and technology to understand learn and implement continuous improvements and a high standard of excellence across the team.
- Vigilant individual and team adherence to internal & HCP compliance transparency rules and reporting and GDPR requirements.
- Creates PowerPoint Slide Decks for Senior Leaders of GM&E to show current department trends and provide recommendations
- Ability to travel domestically and globally at least 3040 of time.
Education and Experience:
- 7 years of meeting & event planning experience with minimum 2 years of people management experience
- Previous Pharmaceutical Experience a plus
- Advanced meeting planning experience.
- Enhanced supplier/vendor management experience
- Strong organization and time management skills ability to simultaneously keep multiple projects prioritized and moving with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills and experience being part of a team with ability to coach and mentor multiple team members.
- Superior contract negotiations skills with indepth understanding of hotel and venue legal and business terms. Ability to guide negotiations of venue and vendors contracts securing the best possible terms to provide Vertex with the most flexibility financial security and cost saving opportunities.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills comfortable in group and individual presentations across all levels of the organization. Ability to interface with the CLevel Suite while conducting Business Review Meetings.
- Advanced group and individual presentation skills to stakeholders and Senior Leadership using compelling data and insights
- Advanced Knowledge of HCP Compliance regulations and ability to apply critical thinking to identify and escalate compliance risks to the Office of Business Integrity & Ethics while adhering to and implementing guidelines and monitoring team adherence.
- Proven ability to manage and develop a highperforming team driving the highest level of customer service team collaboration and a culture of innovation.
- Experience overseeing the annual performance review process evaluating & measuring employee performance and achievements.
- Committed to delivering the highest level of customer service.
- Flexibility and ability to successfully navigate ambiguity and succeed in a rapidly changing fastpaced deadlinedriven environment with multiple priorities.
- Analytical mindset with ability to glean insights from data make strategic recommendations streamline processes and communicate in a compelling visual way.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Prior working knowledge of Cvent Event Management software program.
- CMP and or CMM Certification (a plus but not required)
- Spanish speaking preferred.
Pay Range:
$124000 $186000

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors including skills competencies experience and other jobrelated factors permitted by law.
