Thiess is looking for an experienced Production Leading Hand to join our team at the Peak Downs mine located near Moranbah in the Bowen Basin.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Support the Production Supervisor by leading a mining crew to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.
- Step up as a supervisor when needed.
- Perform regular inspections and complete reports as per site policies.
- Coordinate dispatch personnel production operators and equipment to meet production schedules.
- Apply mining practices to help reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Look for ways to continuously improve.
ABOUT YOU
- Experience as a StepUp Supervisor or Leading Hand in opencut coal mining is highly valued.
- Solid understanding of opencut coal mining operations.
- Strong organisational communication and presentation skills with a friendly and motivational approach.
- Proven leadership and people management experience.
- Relevant qualifications in the coal mining industry.
- Attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
- Current S123 and G2 certifications.
