Oxford Learning Academy in Milton has openings forPrimary/Junior and Junior/Intermediate Supply Teachersto teach classes of approximately 12 students between grades 18. There are five combined classrooms: JKSK Grade 12 Grade 34 Grade 56 and Grade 78. This qualified supply teacher will be responsible for delivering creative comprehensive classroom lessons prepared by thehomeroom teacher any day of the week from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Reporting to the Principal of the Oxford Learning Academyprivate school the successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of grades 18 curriculum requirements in Ontario.
The successful candidate is an enthusiastic articulate and creative teacher who communicates with ease and confidence. Theyoffer a learning community that allows different learners to thrive and prosper. Theyarecomfortable engaging in innovative and diverse individualized programming. Finally theyare critical thinkers who demonstrate excellent planning skills emotional intelligence and exceptional organization skills.
Position Requirements
This role is inperson. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:
Education:
- Ontario Teacher Certification (OCT) with Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate Qualifications
- Teaching experience in the Primary Junior or Intermediate division
- Additional Qualifications (an asset)
- Work experience in the Independent School environment (an asset)
- Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade8 curriculum
Experience:
- Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade8 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to12 students at a time
- Must be able to commit to supplying until the end of the school year
- Must have experience withSmartboard Technology
