What Youll Do
- Train in all areas of the Melt Shop to include Furnace Ladle Furnace Casting Machine and Refractories
- Install and repair refractories in steel vessels (furnaces ladles and tundishes)
- Inspects slide gate system hardware and refractories Changes parts as directed
- Visually inspect furnace for problems (water leaks refractory wear etc)
- Operate mobile equipment such as Forklifts overhead cranes etc
- Interpret all operational procedures and parameters including Job Safety Analysis and Work Instructions
- Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift
- Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
- Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by following safety rules and regulations at all times including proper wearing of company PPE
- Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge experience and by communicating with others
- Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
- Understand start up shutdown and emergency procedures
What Youll Need
- Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature chemical dust fumes and mists uneven surfaces loud noise elevated work areas and confined spaces
- Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift
- Ability to lift push pull and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work as a team player in a fastpaced environment with excellent strong work ethic attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification required including weekends
- Demonstrates dependability in attendance work completion and flexibility to meet business needs
- Basic computer skills
- Strong communication skills required. Must read speak and understand English language in verbal and written communication.
Your Education
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
