The Department of Engineering Technology at Middle Tennessee State University invites distinguished applicants for Chairholder of The Robert E. and Georgianna West Russell Chair of Manufacturing Excellence #021010. This is a 9month fulltime tenuretrack appointment with expedited tenure considered. The start date for the position is August 1 2025.
The Russell Chair of Manufacturing Excellence was established in 1988 and has earned national recognition for excellence in its commitment to enhancing manufacturing quality while supporting existing manufacturing concerns and attracting new manufacturing activity to the Middle Tennessee region. The successful candidate is expected to have a demonstrated interest and commitment to teaching excellence an established record of scholarship and externally funded research and evidence of commitment to public service.
Key Responsibilities:
The position requires a demonstrated interest and commitment to teaching excellence an established record of externally funded research and evidence of a commitment to public service. The successful candidate will engage with faculty and students while spearheading the departments outreach to industry partners in developing mutually beneficial endeavors AND will develop a strong externallyfunded research program.
A terminal degree in mechanical engineering industrial engineering manufacturing engineering electrical engineering mechatronics engineering or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
Candidates who have at least five 5 years of postgraduate academic accomplishments with a proven track record of externally funded research and some experience working with industry will receive special consideration.
