About Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS):Founded in 1998 Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS) in Malden MA serves over 1600 students from Kindergarten through Grade 12.At MVRCS student success is driven by exceptional teachers a carefully selected curriculum delivered with fidelity high academic expectations and a traditional approach to pedagogy. These pillars have consistently positioned Mystic Valley among the top public schools in Massachusetts New England and the nation.Our graduates go on to achieve remarkable success at the postsecondary level a testament to the rigorous academic foundation they receive at Mystic Valley.MVRCS students adhere to a dress code and attend school for 200 instructional days20 more than traditional public schools. Additionally our extended school day is 60 minutes longer than most public schools allowing us to fulfill our commitment to providing a worldclass education.Job Title: Physics Teacher (Grades 712)Job Summary:Mystic Valley Regional Charter School seeks a dedicated and passionate Physics Teacher to implement our physics curriculum for students in Grades 712. Instruction is guided by the Core Knowledge framework in both content and methodology. The high school program features the rigorous and globally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) program and teaching assignments may include IB coursework.Responsibilities:Design and deliver engaging physics instruction aligned with MVRCS standards.Assess and analyze student performance to drive instructional decisions.Foster strong relationships with students parents staff and the broader school community.Select and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse student needs.Create an educational environment that supports students intellectual social emotional and physical development.Maintain professional growth and competence through ongoing learning.Keep accurate student records including attendance grades and academic progress.Supervise student laboratory work and ensure the proper use of equipment and materials.Administer and grade exams assignments and laboratory work.Provide students with extra help as needed and participate in exam proctoring.Fulfill additional duties such as lunchtime coverage study hall supervision and teaching MCAS math preparatory classes for sophomores.Uphold the schools assertive discipline model with consistency.Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development programs.Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Science Department Chair and/or Assistant Director.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Physics (required).Strong communication skills both written and verbal.Ability to assess student performance and provide meaningful feedback.Strong analytical skills to evaluate information and recommend appropriate actions.Effective problemsolving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.Experience in evaluating student skills and writing reports summarizing findings.Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.Knowledge of subjectspecific content educational laws and best practices.Ability to design and implement lessons based on district objectives and student needs.Successful completion of applicable Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) within one year of employment.This position reports to the Science Department Chair and is evaluated annually.
