About Caterpillar Medium Speed Engines

The Role

Operates machines and tools used in manufacturing processes and resolve electrical and mechanical problems to achieve production targets.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Performs routine component installations and maintenance. Maintains records of equipment usage repair history reliability and other similar factors.

• Cooperates with other operators on the production line to ensure workflow stability.

• Reads and interprets mechanical and electrical blueprints and diagrams to select position and secure machinery. Addresses equipment failures calibrates errors and reports them to management in a timely manner.

• Sets up and runs machines to implement manufacturing processes occasionally serving as the lead technician.

Heavy Equipment Maintenance: Knowledge of techniques procedures and tools used in the maintenance of heavy equipment; ability to use this knowledge to identify resolve and prevent issues in heavy equipment and maximize their performance.
Level Expert:

• Champions the use of emerging tools and technologies for heavy equipment maintenance activities.

• Develops heavy equipment maintenance strategy and schedule based on predictive and prescriptive maintenance methodologies that rely on advanced data analysis.

• Establishes internal best practices guidelines and procedures for performing heavy equipment maintenance activities.

• Leads discussions on the performance and ROI of heavy equipment maintenance processes; introduces necessary interventions to improve the efficiency of these processes.

• Monitors industry trends related to heavy equipment maintenance and predict their future implications.

• Oversees all heavy equipment maintenance and repair activities and provides technical consultancy on applying emerging tools and technologies for maintenance.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches tools and techniques; ability to anticipate detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
Level Extensive Experience:

• Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.

• Resolves difficult or highimpact equipment and systems problems.

• Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.

• Coaches others how to resolve integration or communications problems in multivendor environment.

• Applies specific techniques for isolating a problem and defining resolution approach.

• Uses advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performancerelated problems.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

• A background in industrial mechanics engine mechanics or mechatronics.

• Experience or knowledge of Caterpillar Motoren / MaK engines and products or comparable engines.

• Experience with In Situ machining (e.g. crankshaft grinding block repairs) or a willingness to learn.

Additional Information:

• Relocation to Miramar FL is not available

• Up to 25 travel

This position is currently a fully onsite work model requiring you are onsite in Miramar FL.
