Duties And Responsibilities
The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the scope of work is similar related or a logical assignment to this classification. Essential functions include the following: 1. Teach collegelevel courses in all areas of Accounting including Financial Accounting Managerial Accounting and/or specialized Accounting courses such as Income Tax Preparation courses. 2. Consult with students during regularly scheduled office and lab hours. 3. Maintain expertise in current teaching methodologies and curricula. 4. Perform other professional duties as required by contract and general institutional needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a Masters or above in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration from an accredited institution OR Bachelors in business with accounting emphasis or business administration with accounting emphasis or economics with accounting emphasis AND Masters or above in business business administration business education economics taxation finance OR the equivalent (see below) Note: A Bachelors degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration with a CPA license is an alternative qualification for this discipline. Demonstrated cultural competence sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students faculty and staff
