GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Are you looking for an opportunity to work in an amazing location interact with people and be a part of a great team that is passionate about the outdoors If so join Wyoming State Parks for a summer of adventure and teamwork in beautiful Guernsey State Park. Guernsey State Park is located just miles from Guernsey WY. It is home to one of the most diverse State Parks in Wyoming with everything from boating hiking and mountain biking on the recreational side to both the Oregon Trail and Civilian Conservation Corps on the Historical side. All these activities are found within Guernsey State Parks boundary and its 3 satellite sites. The park is currently seeking enthusiastic staff to fill positions in maintenance in visitor services in our fee booths and in the museum. Housing may be provided.

The actual length of employment depends on the work location and the type of job performed.Please refer to the Essential Functions for each category of the seasonal position we offer for more detailed information about job duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.
Seasonal Visitor Services Associate Fee Collector Fee Supervisor:- Greet visitors and provide excellent customer service.
- Answer visitor questions and provide pertinent information about the site including interpretation and orientation of facilities and local points of interest.
- Collect admission fees and monetary transactions which include fee collection and gift shop sales; responsible for cash register reconciliation.
- Responsible for restocking gift shop shelves and tracking inventory.
- Answer a multiline telephone system transferring calls to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with general administrative duties reports and data entry.
- Perform opening and closing duties as well as cleaning janitorial services and light maintenance as needed.
- Assist all North Platte District sites with special projects and events.
Seasonal Maintenance Worker:- Perform routine building grounds and landscape maintenance minor carpentry repairs painting and mowing.
- Assist staff in the construction installation maintenance renovation of grounds and buildings and preventive maintenance.
- Clean and service restrooms shelters and buildings and remove litter from grounds parking lots and other public areas.
- Operate and/or drive a variety of vehicles including light and heavy equipment.
- Operate various maintenance equipment such as mowers eaters leaf blowers hedge trimmers chainsaws and other equipment required in daily operations. Utilize various hand and power tools.
- Follow proper handling and safety procedures involving cleaning chemicals and fuel products encountered in daily operations including proper Personal Protective Equipment usage.
- Provide excellent customer service. May interact with the visiting public answering basic questions.
- Assist all North Platte District sites with special projects and events.
Seasonal Visitor Services Associate Museum Attendant:- Greet visitors and provide excellent customer service.
- Answer visitor questions and provide pertinent information about the site including interpretation and orientation of facilities and local points of interest.
- Give informational tours of the facility; perform programs handson activities and other special projects and events alone and with other staff.
- Perform opening and closing duties and janitorial services to the museum facility.
- Assist with recordkeeping reports and data entry.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
For all seasonal positions preference may be given to applicants who are professional while providing excellent customer service.
**Must have a valid drivers license.
**Must be at least 16 years of age.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Detailoriented accurate and thorough in completing assignments/tasks.
- Good interpersonal skills allowing the ability to interact with visitors from around the world.
- Willingness to work on a variety of assignments every day.
- Experience in handling money cash registers and retail sales.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to manage and complete multiple projects with variable timelines and scopes of work.
- Basic construction and maintenance knowledge.
- Basic operational knowledge of light and heavy equipment use as well as hand and power tools.
- Basic safety awareness of equipment use.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds with or without assistance.
NOTES:
- FLSA: NonxEempt
- Housing may be provided.
- Seasonal positions require irregular hours of work including weekends holidays and evenings.
