Through this internship you will gain handson experience specific to the areas of benefits and payroll. You will work closely with HR Centers of Excellence to support the organizations HR initiatives and employee relations.

The hourly rate for this role at the time of posting is estimated to be within the range below based on class standing. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location experience knowledge and skills.
Sophomore: $18 $21 per hour
Junior: $19 $23 per hour
Senior: $21 $25 per hour
Masters: $22 $28 per hour
Tasks and Qualifications:
This is WhatYou Will do in This Role:
- Participate in Workday implementation specifically for the Payroll and Benefits modules
- Assist employees in enrolling in benefits import and export benefit data to carriers and process change of life events
- Assist in managing wellness program activities including organizing events processing reimbursements and creating wellbeing content
- Support the implementation and rollout of the new Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Perform quality checks and audits of benefits and payroll related data
- Develop document and maintain policies and procedures that support accurate and timely multistate payroll processing
- Perform basic payroll processing including time imports balancing and data integrity
- Successfully navigate and maintain data in our HRIS systems (Workday UltiPro and others)
- Partner on projects business transformation activities and additional duties as assigned
- Develop a variety of communications including flyers employee notices and emails surveys and Viva Engage content
- Understand the full cycle of work in specialty areas of HR (Payroll Benefits)
- Utilize HCM software and participate in systems implementation
- Determine a career path by engaging in handson experience
- Real life onthejob experience of how HR work interacts with a variety of laws
- Exposure to working in a global company
- Build a professional network with colleagues in the industry
What We are Looking For:

- You must be a fulltime student at an accredited U.S. college or university
- Actively perusing a degree in Human Resources
- Currently in your Sophomore or Junior year
- Ability to work at Dematics North American Headquarters located in Grand Rapids MI.
- Driven to gain hands on experience specific to Benefits and Payroll
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Experience with Microsoft Excel Workday experience is a plus
- Basic understanding of local employment laws and governance
- Participate in various Future Talent Programing events such as weekly professional development sessions a teambased innovation challenges and endless development opportunities.
