Education
Successfully completed MDHHS approved Paramediccourse
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licenses
Paramedic license
Valid Michigan drivers license
Certifications
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLSHCP)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred)
Trauma Course (ITLS or PHTLS) (Preferred)
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) (Preferred)
Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) VFIS Driver Training or equivalent (preferred)
Work Experience
6 months field experience in EMS (Preferred)

Position Summary
Responds to calls for emergency medical services and provides patient care as directed and/or determined necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Safely navigates ambulance to patients location. Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.
Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patients history from available sources.
Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice including patient stabilization monitoring and resuscitation from the scene to receiving medical facility.
Contacts medical personnel reports/records observations and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.
Maintains equipment restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary.
