Job Description
The Marketing Asset Specialist will collaborate with key members within the division and organization to create the digital asset management strategy and vision for Syracuse Universitys Division of Marketing. The Specialist will partner across divisional teams (and with University ITS as needed) to design implement and continuously improve digital asset management DAM systems used by the marketing division. Marketing assets will include but not be limited to: imagery video brand elements divisional training reference documents etc. They will participate in the analysis and organization of all digital assets created and uploaded to various DAMs. They will collaborate with team leaders on taxonomy structure metadata upload and organization of assets asset lifecycle process platform training and troubleshooting. They will also have an indepth understanding of workflow management and help to identify places to integrate various asset platforms.
Responsibilities
Create and lead the development of the DAM (digital asset management) strategy. Develop and implement strategies for taxonomy and metadata management based on industry best practices. Govern compliance and maintenance of the system. Actively promote data consistency to support common standards and analytics. Continuously evaluate current solutions for new features and opportunities. Review analyze and evaluate both system and user needs. Monitor all incoming assets in order to make sure they meet requirements such as proper filename structure descriptions keywords etc. Develop training materials and instructions on correct usage and best practices of DAM systems. Provide guidance assistance and support to users as needed or requested. Manage the entire digital asset lifecycle including asset expiration and digital archiving.
