Job Description

Overview

Position Summary

The Executive Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and logistical support to the Executive Director ensuring the smooth operation of the organization. This role requires a high level of organizational skills discretion and a deep respect for Indigenous cultures and communities.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant or similar role.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Interest in and respect for Indigenous cultures.
  • Position will be exposed to multiple allergens including cedar and wool (sheep and mountain goat).

  • Must be willing to travel to local and regional events via plane car ferry etc. as needed

  • Needs a valid AK drivers license

  • Knowledge of Lingt preferred.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a nonprofit or communitybased organization.
  • Experience with database management systems.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultural protocols and practices

The salary for this position is $60000 DOE

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide highlevel administrative support to the Executive Director including managing calendars scheduling appointments and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Prepare correspondence reports and presentations as required.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications including email phone calls and mail.
  • Coordinate meetings conferences and events including logistics and arrangements.
  • Maintain confidential information with the utmost discretion.
  • Manage office operations including office supplies equipment and facilities.
  • Assist with financial management tasks as needed such as expense reports and budget tracking.
  • Represent the organization professionally in interactions with stakeholders including Indigenous communities donors and partners.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of positive relationships with Indigenous communities.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
