Job Description

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT FULLTIME LECTURER.


The Electrical Engineering Department within the College of Engineering at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo CA is seeking to hire four fulltime Lecturers beginning September 11 2025. Primary duties will be to teach undergraduate Electrical and Computer Engineering courses in the areas of Digital and Computer Design Coursework Electric Circuit Analysis Electronic Design Control Systems Communication Systems Power Systems and Signal Processing.

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024 the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
Lecturer A: $5507$6677
Lecturer B: $6221$13224
Lecturer C: $6825$14523
Lecturer D: $8593$15211

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS A Master of Science in electronic electrical computer science or computer engineering or related major (or B.S. in electronic electrical computer science or computer engineering or related major with applicable industrial experience) is required for lecture and lab courses. Demonstrated experience and commitment to studentcentered learning and teaching as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings is required. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in electronic electrical computer science or computer engineering or related major and evidence of (or potential for) excellence in teaching. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative supportive and inclusive environment. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
