The University of San Diego Professional and Continuing Education is looking for an adjunct faculty member to teach and/or develop an online class for our Medical Billing and Coding course. The course is offered in the online selfpaced format and students have 6 months to complete it.
Teaching responsibilities include: teaching assessing student progress in meeting the learning objectives through formal and informal assessment holding office hours meeting required deadlines for submitting grades attendance and other information as requested and adhering to safety procedures and departmental standards. Development responsibilities include: working with the Learning Design Team to create and develop the course in our learning management system while meeting agreed upon deliverable dates.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of an associate degree in medical billing and coding as well as certification including passing the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certification Exam. Certification should be specific to medical coding and medical billing. Experience in the medical field is essential particularly in positions with responsibilities related to billing. Further qualifications include knowledge of medical records management medical terminology administrative duties skills for electronic medical record software programs and healthcare theory and reasoning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the Canvas learning management system is a plus

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience education and other factors including departmental budget.
