The Sourcing/Subcontracting Specialist is responsible for managing the sourcing and procurement of materials components and services from external suppliers and subcontractors to meet project requirements. This role ensures that all sourcing and subcontracting activities are aligned with production schedules cost targets and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier and Subcontractor Identification:
Identify evaluate and select suppliers/subcontractors based on their capabilities quality and costeffectiveness.
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure ongoing cooperation.
Negotiation and Contracting:
Negotiate pricing terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare and manage contracts to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Procurement Management:
Ensure timely procurement of goods and services in line with production schedules.
Develop and execute procurement strategies for key components and services optimizing cost and lead times.
Cost Control and Budget Management:
Monitor and control procurement costs to stay within project budgets.
Implement costsaving initiatives and explore alternative sourcing strategies to reduce costs.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure sourced products and services meet the required specifications and standards.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
Oversee inventory levels and ensure that the right materials are available at the right time to avoid production delays.
Manage and optimize the supply chain for efficiency and reliability.
Risk Management:
Assess risks related to the supply chain and subcontracting activities including delays quality issues and price fluctuations.
Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure continuity of supply.
Collaboration with Internal Teams:
Work closely with engineering production and other departments to ensure that sourcing and subcontracting activities align with project objectives.
Provide technical support and information to internal teams regarding sourced components.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities supplier performance and contracts.
Generate regular reports on sourcing and procurement activities highlighting any issues or opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in engineering Supply Chain Management Business or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing procurement or supply chain management preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
Strong on negotiation communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with supply chain software and procurement tools.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory compliance in aerospace.
