Location: Providence RI Pawtucket RI Central Falls RI (please note: you may be placed at any of our sites that have openings or be expected to float to other sites)
Reports To: Child Development Supervisor.

Position Overview:
The Teacher Assistant (TA) will collaborate with the lead teacher to support and implement a highquality curriculum that aligns with best practice performance standards Department of Child Youth and Families (DCYF) regulations and Head Start/PreK guidelines. This role focuses on fostering the emotional physical social and cognitive development of young children while maintaining a nurturing and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the teacher to develop and deliver engaging developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.
2. Ensure compliance with DCYF childcare regulations Head Start performance standards and PreK guidelines.
3. Monitor and document daily observations regarding childrens health behavior and development reporting any concerns promptly.
4. Maintain accurate progress notes and collect necessary data to track each childs emotional physical social and cognitive development.
5. Work with staff to meet the individual needs of children ensuring consistent communication about progress and support strategies.
6. Build positive relationships with children families and staff demonstrating sensitivity and respect for diverse backgrounds and experiences.
7. Collaborate with the MentorCoaching Team to implement strategies that promote academic behavioral and socialemotional growth.
8. Participate in four parentteacher conferences annually with a preference for two home visits and two onsite meetings.

Qualifications:
We offer tiered levels of Teacher Assistant positions based on experience and education:

• TA1: High School Diploma or equivalent. Starting at $15.20/hr.
• TA2: Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. Starting at $15.70/hr.
• TA3: Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a bachelors degree in a related field (e.g. Child Study Child Psychology Early Childhood Special Education Elementary Education or Nursing). Starting at $16.46/hr.

Additional Requirements:

• Strong ability to organize and plan activities that encourage developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children.
• Demonstrated ability to establish warm supportive and nurturing relationships with young children and families.
• Basic computer proficiency is required for data entry email communication and recordkeeping.
• A commitment to working in a collaborative team environment and supporting a positive learning environment for all children.
