Job Description

Exercise Physiologist

Part time

4 days/week

Are you looking for an autonomous position working with day rehabilitation and acute inpatients

We are offering a terrific opportunity for an innovative Exercise Physiologist to be part of the friendly supportive and highly skilled team at the National Capital Private Hospital. The successful applicant would be involved in providing exercise physiology services to surgical and medical inpatients as well as help to manage and implement the cardiac and orthopaedic day rehabilitation programs. The hours offer some flexibility making them idea for a candidate who is looking for a good worklife balance. The ideal candidate would be able to work 4 days (approximately 1624hours) per week. There will be the opportunity for further hours if interested.

The National Capital Private Hospital is a modern progressive acute medical surgical and rehabilitation hospital of 142 beds located in the southern suburbs of Canberra. The hospital has 8 operating theatres an intensive care unit coronary care unit day surgery unit medical/rehabilitation and surgical wards.

Essential Criteria

Current accreditation with ESSA.

Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Ability to work autonomously and manage resources efficiently.

Skills in assessing postoperative and rehabilitation patients.

Commitment to providing a high level of individualised innovative treatments.

Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Commitment to professional development and quality improvement

Current police check

Desirable Criteria

Experience working in a hospital and treating acute and/or rehabilitation inpatients.

Experience in running day rehabilitation programs.

A strong knowledge of common pathologies and orthopaedic and cardiac surgical conditions.
