General Summary

This position is to support the Mathematics Teacher Education program as well as mathematics methods courses in the Mathematics Department at Illinois State University through coordinating clinical experiences and student teaching experiences as well as supporting students and university supervisors leading up to and during these experiences.

In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer sessions the Mathematics Department maintains a pool of qualified persons interested in nontenuretrack teaching positions. Applications are accepted continuously for parttime and fulltime nontenuretrack positions and reviewed as vacancies become available. There may not be an actual vacancy at the time you apply.

Required Qualifications

1. Masters degree in mathematics education or in mathematics with a strong interest in secondary mathematics education.

2. Teaching certificate/license earned in the U.S.

3. For teaching positions state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.

Desired Qualifications

1. Experience supervising student teachers and/or clinical students

2. At least five years of teaching experience at the high school level.

3. Knowledge of edTPA requirements and initial licensure requirements in Illinois.

4. Knowledge of NCTM Standards
