You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailSummary: The Aboriginal Wellness Coordinator (AWC) provides outreach services that supports the interests needs and rights of Aboriginal children and youth to access quality services. In accordance with the vision and values of the Kanukwa7staliha Family Services (KFS) organization the AWC works as part of an interdisciplinary support services network in the Northern Statimc Territory with accountability to Kanukwa7staliha Family Services. The AWC also provides mental health services to children youth and their families with severe mental disorders and social emotional and/or behavioral disorders.
Qualifications & Experience:
A Bachelor of Social Work or Child Youth Mental Health Certificates or a related degree
A minimum of two 2 years related experience
Knowledge and understanding of Sttimc culture.
Must be willing to submit to and clear a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Duties & Responsibilities
Support KFS Aboriginal Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Clinician as well as the children youth and their families.
Develop treatment plans conduct screening and intake activities.
Provide aftercare and followup services as requested by the clinician
Strong conflict resolution skills
Strong writing and verbal communication skills
Ability to use tact and good judgment in dealing with sensitive and complex issues
Excellent leadership and crisis intervention skills.
