Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies values and mission of the organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in setting up the interventional suite with appropriate instruments and supplies 15
  • Utilizes proper aseptic techniques and practices standard precautions. Follows policy for medication contrast and specimen handling 15
  • Assists with preparing positioning and draping patients and participates in the interventional space to assure correct patient and surgical site 15
  • Understands anticipates and adapts to interventional provider preference and patient care variables and contributes to updating interventional provider preference materials 15
  • Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory billing protocols and image distribution 15
  • Maintains adequate supplies for efficient section/department operations. Participates in inventory control and monitoring 15
  • Implements radiation protection and patient safety standards 10
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Associates degree or certification from a technical school; or six months to oneyear related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Radiography Certification and Registration (R American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Vascular Interventional Radiography Certification and Registration (VI) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Within 24 months of hire. Employees in an Interventional Radiology Technologist role (prior to September 1 2024 who do not have a VI certification are not required to obtain them; employees in an Interventional Radiology Technologist role with existing VI certification are required to maintain active certifications. Employees hired or transferred into the Interventional Radiology Technologist role after September 1 2024 are also required to maintain active certifications
  • CPR American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

  • Prior experience working as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
