Job Description
Nature of Work:
The Peer Specialist provides unconditional nonjudgmental support to assigned consumers and families upon request who are participating with Adult Behavioral Services. The Peer Specialist works collaboratively with Care Managers.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED must be 18 years of age.
- Must possess an understanding of or be willing to learn the principles of recovery and resiliency model. Candidates must be a current and/or previous recipient of mental health and/or substance abuse services or the loved one or friend of a recipient. Must be Certified Peer Specialist or Provisional Certified Peer Specialist.
- Must have a current valid drivers license that meets Agency guidelines.
- Must meet the requirements of the Mental Health Regulations regarding Justice Center Staff Exclusion List clearance and Justice Center Criminal History Review for criminal convictions.
