Job Description
AMHCs Residential Treatment Facility in Presque Isle is looking for Substance Use Disorder Counselors. The chosen candidates are responsible for establishing a strong clinical relationship with those individuals seeking substance use assessment and individual/ group and family treatment interventions to begin their recovery process at a level of care that requires residential treatment. The goal is to positively engage the client work directly with referral sources and educate the AMHC teams and the community about this different treatment intervention which has shown to be successful with this complex clinical presentation. The SU Counselor will offer a dynamic intervention with the substance user and/or their families. Offer advocacy to access community resources that offer a coordinated effort to support the substance user in meeting their individual needs.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Registration as a Registered Alcohol and Drug Counselor (RADC) leading to licensure as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC)
- Physical every 3 years
- Provide services that provide easy access to services
- Offer Cooccurring services
- Provide individual group and family counseling for clients and families
- Provide educational groups
- Assist in general administrative and maintenance duties specific to RTF
