Job Description

The Good Spirit School Division invitesapplications for Temporary Part Time Educational Assistant

Yorkton Regional High School

EAs support student learning in the classroom environment and othereducational settings. These dynamic individualssupport teachers and school teams inmeeting the diverse learning needs of students. EAs are valuablemembers of a team which collaborates to promote student learning wellbeing and success.

Assignment/Contract:

5.5 hours/day Temporary PartTime

Assignment and Term:

  • This position is a temporary parttime position of 5.5 hours/day in accordance with the Educational Assistant school calendar.
  • The position commences April 14 2025 and expires June 26 2025 with the work schedule to be determined by the principal and student services. Rest periods will be scheduled in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement.

The duties of an Educational Assistant are to:

  • Work closely with students to meet their diverse learning goals.
  • Provide assistance to students with mobilityneeds and/or who requirepersonal care.
  • Assist the classroom teacher to support learning withall students in the classroom.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all information pertaining to a child classroom and the school.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designate and those listed in Job Description Educational Assistant

The successful candidate will have the desired qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diplomaor equivalent.
  • Acute attention to detail adaptability flexibility and the ability to work as a team member will beconsidered assets.
  • Knowledge of and experience with indigenous ways of knowing living and being are a strong asset.

Salary and Benefits:

  • The successful candidate will be paid on a monthly basis at an hourly rate from $19.89 $24.43 plus applicable vacation pay.
  • Benefits include participation in the Saskatchewan School Board Association(SSBA) Employee Benefits Plan if eligible the Municipal Employees Pension Plan (MEPP) and opportunities to attend professional development seminars.

Applicants not currently working for GSSD will be required to submit a recent (within the last six months) criminal record and vulnerable sector check acceptable to the Board of Education prior to offer of employment.
