Position Purpose:

The Manager Pricing Strategy will provide subject matter expertise project management and analytical support to the development and of Pricing Strategies. The Manager will understand the needs of constituencies including the merchants Pro team and our subsidiaries to develop and test hypothesis as well as to work with the development team to prioritize IT development. The Manager will work with cross functional partners including marketing ops strategy and others to ensure end to end thinking on strategy and . The Pricing Manager will manage Senior Analysts in an effort to support corporate level pricing initiatives and advocate for implementing pricing best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • 50 Develop relationships with cross functional partners to collaborate and to determine company goals and objectives conduct standard and ad hoc analysis to identify key drivers of performance recommend pricing decisions and strategies that will improve category performance and develop financial plans that reflect pricing changes.
  • Typical analysis will include: (a) marketplace and macroeconomic trends impacting the category including competitive assessment (b) customer segmentation and responsiveness (c) line structure and line structure engineering (d) localization including defining pricing zone definition (e) promotional effectiveness (f) transaction and basket penetration (g) consumer psychology.
  • Develop executivelevel presentations that summarize analysis including historical performance strategic rationale underpinning pricing decisions and expected financial impact.
  • Report out to all levels of management. Accountable for accuracy thoroughness thought process timeliness and viability of recommendations.
  • 50 Develop the necessary communication to leadership to gain alignment and partner with IT and other cross functional teams to prioritize efforts that support the of strategies.
  • Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations concerning selection termination performance appraisal and professional development.


Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • This position reports to Sr Manager Pricing
  • This position has 23 direct reports


Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10 of the time.


Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.


Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • Prior experience in retail Pricing
  • Prior experience in merchandising planning and analysis
  • Proficient with Microsoft Access Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills including demonstrated aptitude with financial analysis and ability to generate insight from large and complex data sets
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively articulate viewpoint to executive leadership and ability to write compelling executive level presentations
  • Strong project management skills and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong financial acumen including experience with the retail and cost methods of accounting


Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelors degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
