Job Description

Job Description Summary
Responsible for the coordination planning preparation presentation and evaluation of all learning activities in any given course. The instructor must remain current in the discipline area and continually explore teaching methods and strategies to engage learners organize and plan instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles and devise appropriate assessment tools that monitor student learning outcomes. The instructor is also responsible for participating in related activities to include professional development curriculum design and other activities that contribute to the department division and College. The instructor performs all other duties as directed by the Department Chair Division Dean EVP /Provost or the President or designee. Continuing Tenure Track: Faculty hired on 2year conditional track upon successful performance and evaluation the hires may continue towards tenure track and is renewable each year for two years.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Master of Science degree in Nursing required. Specialization in Pediatrics required. Active R.N. licensure or eligibility for active R.N. licensure in Maryland. Two years of teaching experience in nursing education preferred. AREA SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Extent and relevance of graduate educational preparation to anticipated teaching assignment. Relevance of teaching experience to anticipated teaching assignments in classroom and clinical settings. Relevance of nonteaching experience to anticipated teaching assignments. Evidence of quality teaching including faculty evaluation scores and ratings teaching awards earned courses designed developed and/or revised etc. Evidence of knowledge of and experience in employing instructional methods and techniques appropriate to diverse student learning styles. Evidence of currency in professional discipline through continuing education professional development and/or scholarly activity. Evidence of ability to teach effectively within and contribute positively to a diverse multiethnic multicultural student population and campus environment. Familiarity with philosophy and goals of Associate Degree Nursing Programs. Pertinent experience in nursing i.e. clinical competence specialty computers and simulation technology.
