Job Description
Seeking a Engineering Technician for an exciting opportunity with the MMIC Design Center organization under CAES Defense Systems located in our Richardson TX location! The MMIC Design Center is comprised of a team of 20 MMIC and Packaging Designers creating advanced RF solutions for internal and external customers. The Center has PMO test and test support engineering to convert designs into delivered products as well as systems expertise to support customer architectures and trade studies also enabling CAES capabilities at board and subarray levels. Perform setup calibration and perform RF measurements on Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMIC); assist in preparing technical documents such as test plans assembly drawings prepare bill of materials; test and troubleshoots RF/Analog circuits and/or assemblies; perform IC testing on a semiautomated probe station; perform RF characterization by measuring Sparameters single tone power and twotone power measurements on MMIC assemblies. Perform various tasks in a laboratory including test visual inspection and shipping; extensive work performed under a microscope.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES:
Perform onwafer testing on MMIC power amplifiers lownoise amplifiers and signal control MMICs using a vector network analyzer.
Ability to perform minor rework on prototype microwave assemblies; handling die wirebonding working with solder epoxies and other assemblyrelated materials. Requires working under a microscope.
Preparing drawings and technical documents to include: statistical analysis reports generating test plans assembly drawings and product datasheets.
Support Engineering and production staff in the test visual inspection of die and product shipment.
Obtain quotes from vendors lead procurement and assist with inventory and asset management.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications
MINIMUM:
Certificate in Electronics Technology Associates degree in Electronics or equivalent experience.
2 years using a Network Analyzer to perform sparameter measurements of amplifiers or passive circuits.
Working with microelectronics components requires some use of working under a microscope and excellent hand/finger dexterity.
This position requires access to technology materials software or hardware that is controlled by US export law. In order to be eligible for this position you must be a US Person under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
PREFERRED:
34 years of RF test experience using power meters spectrum analyzers and RF signal sources.
3 years experience using vector network analyzers (PNA/VNA).
Advanced soldering techniques training.
Excellent written oral and interpersonal skills.
Familiar with using CAD tools such as AutoCAD of Gerber Viewers.
DoD work experience.
Pay Range: $24.60 $39.53 hourly (Richardson TX). Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including but not limited to geographical location job function of the position education and experience of the successful candidate.
