This individual is accountable for teaching and supervision of students in the Animal Science Chapter 74 Career Vocational Technical Education (CVTE) state frameworks and curriculum disciplines under the direction of the Veterinary Assisting Department Head.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Responsible for the development and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and competencies.2. Responsible for the integration of the departments curriculum where appropriate.3. Three years of fulltime working experience in Animal Science.5. Evidence of mastery of a wide variety of vocational/technical teacher competencies and the understanding of instructional techniques.6. Evidence of Animal Science/Veterinary Industry experience to include clinical interpersonal and customer service skills.7. Competent in computer applicationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Advanced educational preparation.2. Evidence of educational leadership.3. OSHA Trainer4. Knowledge of NAVTA Approved Veterinary Assistant Programs and credentialing.5.
