The Team
The Resource and Out of Care Team is a passionate and experienced group of professionals dedicated to providing safe and caring homes for children and youth who are temporarily unable to live with their parents or guardians. This established team consisting of 8.5 Resource/Out of Care Workers a Team Assistant a Social Program Officer Assistant and a Team Leader works closely with internal teams including Child Protection Guardianship Adoptions Child and Youth Mental Health as well as local schools hospitals and community partners to ensure safety and strive for permanency. Known for their strong teamwork and unwavering support for one another this team is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children youth and families.
The Role
The Resource and Out of Care Worker ensures children and youth in care have access to safe nurturing homes by coordinating placements with foster families or relatives on both an emergency and planned basis. In this role you will collaborate with families and community partners to support permanency options such as adoption or outofcare arrangements while championing the rights and wellbeing of children and youth. This is a relational and meaningful role where you can make lasting connections and foster positive changes helping children and youth understand their potential and building strong connections within the beautiful Fraser Valley community.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.

There are two 2 positions available: One temporary full time position for twelve 12 months. One temporary full time position for three 3 months.
A permanent appointment may result from these temporary appointments.
These positions can be based in either Abbotsford or Mission and will provide services in both locations.
The temporary postings are not limited to the geographic area. Board and lodging and relocation expenses do not apply.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in Abbotsford or Mission Chilliwack Hope and Agassiz.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
