Position Summary
The Observatory on Social Media (OSoMe) at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow (one year term with renewal available for up to 3 years). The annual salary is $55000$65000. The position includes standard benefits at Indiana University commensurate with those for faculty members such as health vision and dental coverage along with participation in a retirement plan. The mission of the Observatory is to study the media and technology networks that drive the online diffusion of dis/misinformation. OSoMe offers access to data and tools for researchers worldwide to uncover the vulnerabilities of the media ecosystem and develops methods for increasing the resilience of citizens and democratic systems to manipulation. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work closely with Filippo Menczer and other researchers at the Observatory on modeling the spread of harmful misinformation on social media.
