Salary: pa with potential for further progression to 42439 with our pay progression scheme.
Location: Hybrid
Contracted to our Wilmslow London Edinburgh Cardiff or Belfast office however we offer flexible home and officebased working opportunities. There will be times when you will be expected to attend the office to collaborate with colleagues or travel due to business need.

Job summary
The cyber threat landscape changes constantly with attacks targeting both information and system resilience increasing in frequency and size. The Regulatory Cyber Directorate is part of our wider Regulatory Supervision service.
As a cyber security regulator we use our expertise to provide advice and guidance and where necessary enforce legislation. We promote the use of security controls which represent good practice. Our mission is to make cyber security accessible for everyone and drive change.

Job description
This role supports the team by developing implementing maintaining and improving administrative support across the work of the Directorate. It will involve working independently and as part of the team engaging across the office internally and externally.
A key aspect of the role is encouraging engagement internally on cyber related issues but also supporting the coordination of external engagement activities to ensure that the ICO is consistent in its cyber messaging.
This role will support key roles within the Regulatory Cyber teams and cross office NIS teams in the development and maintenance of the cybersecurity profession data metrics and reporting and coordination activities for policy and guidance activities ensuring alignment of cyber activities performed across all ICO functions.
This role will work alongside the Regulatory Cyber team but will have the opportunity to reach into work across the ICO teams to understand our mission and get more closely involved with a range of interesting workstreams.
Key responsibilities:
To provide support activities to the Regulatory Cyber Directorate; such as setting up and minuting meetings preparing briefing papers collating information and carrying out impact analysis.
To maintain and develop the cyber engagement tracker allowing visibility of all cyber activity across the organisation.
To be a main point of contact for the directorate liasing with key stakeholders such as NCSC law enforcement government departments and other regulators.
To monitor mailboxes and respond to cyber related enquiries taking ownership of issues raised (in consultation with colleagues) and ensuring they are followed up on and actioned appropriately.
To collate information in a useable form using it to provide reports and inform decisions e.g. lessons learned feedback from engagement activities attendance at training events.
To undertake research into potential engagement opportunities; identifying and reaching out to those which would be suitable for the ICO initiating contact maintaining existing relationships and feeding into planning activities.
To support delivery of new methods of reaching organisations to increase awareness of the directorates activities and published advice.
Support the Principal Cyber Specialists with the implementation of the Regulatory Cyber Target Operating Model (TOM) tracking progress against plans and allocation of budget and resources.
To undertake such other duties that are and are commensurate with the role of the post.
Person specification
Essential criteria assessed at application stage:
Experience relevant to the role requirements as described in the role responsibilities and person specification and accumulated through other support/engagement roles.
Experience of delivering cross organisation support with the ability to engage others to deliver to plan and scope.
Ability to develop knowledge and understanding across the range of work involved in the role so that they can contribute effectively and efficiently to the work of the Directorate
Essential criteria assessed during interview:
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with people at all levels using tact and diplomacy and able to collaborate with other teams to achieve objectives
Excellent organisation skills demonstrating an ability to manage workloads and identify key priorities in line with organisational strategy directorate vision and the TOM.
Selfmotivated and dynamic with the skills to identify issues and willingness to own remediations.
Excellent problem solving ability.
