Job Description

Prysmian is the world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry. Team Overview and Job Responsibilities

Indianapolis Compounds is hiring machine operators for fulltime second and thirdshift openings. As a machine operator you will work on a team of 6 7 operators and a team coordinator who are supported by the control room operator. Your team will make the compounds we send to other Prysmian plants to create the cable helping to transform the world around us!

Shifts:

  • Training will be MF from 7a3p for 46 weeks (training schedule is flexible). Upon completion of training you will work 7am7pm or 7pm7am on a rotating 223 schedule:
    • Week 1: work M/T off W/Th work F/Sa/Su
    • Week 2: off M/T work W/Th off F/Sa/Su

Pay:

  • $24.97 $27.71 $2/HR Shift Premium
  • Medical Dental Vision Starts on Day One

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Complete routine production activities to keep production flowing
  • Report changes in the process and/or issues with the system
  • Complete cleanouts following appropriate procedures
  • Ensure materials systems and tooling are ready for the next run before the active run is completed
  • Cooperate with other associates to accomplish daily housekeeping tasks
  • Complete quality testing and make corrections as needed
  • Recognize and communicate safety hazards to ensure a safe work environment
  • Update systems as needed throughout the production process

Who are we looking for

Qualifications:

  • Can perform basic reading writing arithmetic and computer functions.
  • Able to communicate and cooperate with other associates.
  • Can lift loads up to 50 pounds and physically traverse throughout the multilevel facility.
  • Possesses sufficient motor skills to safely operate and utilize a forklift.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A resultsdriven individual who has demonstrated the ability to work in a fastpaced highperformance manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma GED or equivalent

Working Conditions:

Job includes exposure to physical hazards associated with the maintenance and operation of major production and plant service equipment and exposure to the raw materials and servicerelated chemicals used at Prysmian. The job involves exposure to high noise areas requiring the use of personal protection and exposure to potential lost time accidents due to crushing or cutting of various body parts and burns or splashes associated with exposure to hot equipment and lubricating fluids and other materials used throughout the plant.
