Job Description
Clean Harbors Fort Mcmurray AB Canada is looking for a Licensed Diesel Mechanicto join their safety conscious team! This individual will be responsible for performing maintenance inspections and repairs on our fleet of company light duty trucks heavy duty trucks and equipment.
This is a 14 Day on and 14 day off position for a Mobile Field Mechanic.
The licensed Field Mechanic rate is $50.65 $52.90
$50.65 for commuter/ camp plus Taxfree turnaround allowance of $469 $938 depending on where they live. Camp and meals provided.
$52.90 for Local plus $1300 COLA
The licensed shop position is; $48.15 $50.40
$48.15 for commuter/ camp plus Taxfree turnaround allowance of $469 $938 depending on where they live. Camp and meals provided.
$50.40 for local plus $1300 COLA
CVIP license is not a requirement but would be beneficial.

Responsibilities for Internal Candidates
- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices policies and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly secured prior to work/repairs (i.e. Uses chock blocks and jack stands).
- Correct all equipment deficiencies and performs preventative maintenance tasks on company vehicles and equipment.
- Perform thorough inspections of equipment and identifies required repairs.
- Perform routine and specific maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot diagnose and repair equipment and light and heavyduty vehicles.
- Disassemble inspect and replace worn or broken parts.
- Fit and adjust new or repaired parts.
- Complete and submit all associated paperwork as required for tracking Preventative Maintenance schedules.
- Fill out and submit all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure the shop area is kept clean tidy and free of hazards at all times.
Qualifications for Internal Candidates
- Journeyman or Red Seal HET certification required.
- 2years experience working as a Heavy Equipment Technician
- Previous experience working on Vacuum Trucks is an asset.
- Class 5 Drivers License required.
