About the role

Join our team at the brandnew Toowoomba Hospital! We are seeking individuals who excel in a fastpaced environment and are eager to handle a diverse caseload. Animal patients are brought in through various channels including public admissions RSPCA animal ambulances our Community Outreach program the Inspectorate and internal transfers from regional shelters. As part of our veterinary clinic and surgery team youll collaborate with a dynamic group of professionals making a real difference in animal welfare.   • Work as part of a dedicated team of people committed to animal welfare.
  • Provide both medical and surgical nursing care to animals in the care of RSPCA Qld.
  • Perform routine laboratory and pathology tests.
  • Assist Veterinarians in handling and treating of animals.
  • Administer routine veterinary treatments and medications.
  • Triage incoming animals.
  • Assist with basic Veterinary Reception duties such as data entry booking appointments and maintaining up to date and accurate patient records.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the hospital is always maintained.
  • Attend RSPCA events including Community activation days and fundraising days.

Who are we looking for

  • A Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology (or recognised overseas equivalent).
  • Previous surgical nursing emergency and critical care experience with companion animals.
  • Required 3 years experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well & multitask under pressure in a highvolume busy hospital environment.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written).
  • Excellent relationship building skills within your team and across departments.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills including high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks within a busy work schedule.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Genuine interest in animal welfare and the objectives of RSPCA Qld.
  • Ability to perform physical duties including manual handling and an ability to handle a minimum weight of 10 kilos.

Permanent part time position working 2 days per week based at the Toowoomba Wellcamp location shift times are 7:30am 4:30pm or 8:00am 5:00pm.
