Job Description
Overview
Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Network Engineer supporting an Intelligence Community Customer in Lorton VA. As a Network Engineer you will play a crucial role in designing implementing and maintaining the network infrastructure. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of the customer systems ensuring high availability reliability and security. You will work collaboratively with the IT team to support various projects and initiatives on both classified and unclassified networks.
The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Implements and manages local area networks (LANs) wide area networks (WANs) and other networkrelated technologies.
- Performs network configuration and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Monitors network performance and proactively address any issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborates with crossfunctional teams to integrate network solutions into new and existing systems.
- Conducts regular maintenance and firmware upgrades on network infrastructure.
- Creates required documentation for network infrastructure.
- Builds network and telecommunications systems for deployment assist in testing and prepare for shipping.
- Assists in the installation operations and maintenance of network devices & systems in the network/data centers and network infrastructure closets.
- Provides oncall support and respond to system emergencies as required.
- Travel required to sites within the DC metro area; approximately once per week.
Qualifications
Clearance Required: TS/SCI
Degree: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
DesiredCertifications:
- IAT Level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01.
- Cisco/Juniper.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of network protocols routing switching and subnetting.
- Handson experience with Cisco and/or Juniper network equipment.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques.
- Basic understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
- Experience in supporting classified networks.
DesiredSkills:

- Solar Winds
- F5
- Palo Alto
- Experience troubleshooting and configuring IP networks using the following protocols: BGP and OSPF desired.
