Position: Social Media Manager

Program: Digital Marketing

Department: Marketing & Communications

Reports to: Head of Marketing & Communications

Compensation: $80000 $90000 annually

Status: 100 FullTime Regular Exempt

Probation: 180 days

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Centers Marketing & Communications team functions as a fullservice internal and external marketing and communications provider for the largest LGBTQ organization in the world. Scope of work includes media and press relations. supporting crisis and breaking news communications and events. website building optimization maintenance and content creation. program and services collateral communications and support. graphic design copy. social media content recommendations. video and photography production. and email marketing. The team also provides overall organization brand support and promotion.

JOB SUMMARY: The Social Media Manager plays a vital role in the Marketing & Communications team by running the strategy and posting schedules for the organizations growing social accounts. The Social Media Manager works closely with the Head of Marketing & Communications to cement the Centers visual and brand identity as well as its voice on a wide range of topics from culture to politics to official Center policies and statements. This role will also work closely with other stakeholders throughout the organization to make sure all messaging and posts are in line with the Centers internally diverse team.

of Role ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

50 Social Media Strategy &

Manage Instagram Facebook and BlueSky accounts ensuring platformspecific strategies and potential expansion.

Develop engaging posts with optimized visual content (images videos) aligned with brand voice.

Generate social media captions for department colleagues to review and edit.

Implement community management by responding to comments messages and mentions to foster engagement.

Stay updated on LGBTQ communities breaking news and pop culture trends to inform content and strategy.

5 Data & Performance Analysis

Monitor and interpret social media analytics to adjust and innovate strategy as needed.

Provide ongoing feedback and collaborate with the Sr. Digital Communications Manager and Department Head.

25 Content Creation & Event Coverage

Capture photo and video content at key Center and community events ensuring highquality visuals.

Work with department leadership to leverage talent relationships for collaborations with notable figures.

20 CrossTeam Collaboration & Representation

Liaise with program and policy staff to translate their needs into effective social content.

Educate internal teams on social medias role in advancing the organizations mission.

Represent the Center professionally at internal and external meetings events and stakeholder functions.

Participate in Marketing and Communications team meetings contributing to brainstorming and planning.

0 Management Responsibilities (Budgetary & Direct Supervisory)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A passion for the Centers work and its mission to make the world a better place for LGBTQ people.

Demonstrable experience leading social media campaigns or influencer campaigns and/or growing a social media account on a major platform.

Minimum 3 years related experience.

Experience working with social media for an organization publication or other public entity.

An understanding of the unique natures of social media platforms plus how to tailor voice and content to each for maximum results.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.

Proven ability and experience working in a collaborative team environment.

A creative and detailoriented selfstarter who can work quickly and independently in a fastpaced campaign environment managing multiple projects priorities and deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Familiarity with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Willing and able to work evenings and weekends when necessary.

Hybrid (remote/office) flexibility but must be based in the Los Angeles area.
