Job Description

In addition Applied provides engineering design and systems integration for industrial fluid power and flow control applications as well as customized mechanical fabricated rubber fluid power and flow control shop services.
Applied Industrial Technologies is currently seeking and has an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Summer Intern Warehouse/CSR Trainee at our Kelowna BC locations. The selected candidate will be part of our Applied Scholarship Program.
MORE ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
We are seeking dedicated students who are interested in building a lasting relationship with us by returning year over year for summers terms with the ultimate goal of employment after graduation.
As part Applieds Scholarship Program at the end of each successful term the selected student will receive a scholarship award for their hard work. Upon returning each year and successfully completing a subsequent term that award will increase in value!
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The overall purpose of the role Inside Sales Trainee is to develop technical knowledge of Applieds product offering in areas such as bearings belts sheaves bushings roller chains adaptors etc and to develop proficiency in our end to end sales processes. They will play an integral role in helping our customers Achieve Superior Performance!
Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for:
- Develop sound understanding of Applieds processes product offerings clients and markets
- Receiving and shipping all branch product in an accurate and timely manner
- Sort material stock shelves pick orders package and label materials
- Organize and maintain all applicable records and files
- Respond to customer inquiries (walkin phone and email)
- Enter and process orders in SAP
- Help put stock away and assist with cycle counts
- Other tasks as required
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
- Currently attending a postsecondary program with 2 or more years remaining (preference for Mech Eng or related programs)
- Positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Naturally mechanically inclined
- Organized and strong attention to detail
- Sales and customer service driven
- An interest in learning new skills and pursuing a career in Technical Sales
