The Analytics and Innovation (Ai) team at United Airlines works to innovate transform and solve complex business problems resulting in significant and measurable enterprise impact through the application of deep crossfunctional business expertise and advanced analytics. We work with business and technology partners across the enterprise (e.g. Airport Operations Contact Centers Network Planning Revenue Management Digital Products Human Resources etc. to influence strategic decisions enterprise strategy business process and to help connect the dots across the enterprise. Team members within Ai partner with business areas to improve operating efficiencies of departments across the enterprise. Projects range in duration and complexity from quick analyses to large scale transformative efforts. The team uses an array of analytical technical and consulting skills including Lean Six Sigma organizational change time and motion studies statistical data analysis and model development and validation.

Analysts demonstrate these skills to support beneficial projects across many of Uniteds departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working on projects in conjunction with business teams to identify opportunities for improvement gather and analyze information and data develop improvements and innovations
• Gathering and analyzing data of Uniteds various operations to make factbased datadriven recommendations
• Utilizing technical skills and software (simulation in SIMO/ARENA Excel VBA etc. to analyze and improve business processes and to create tools for use by other departments
• Performing measurement and analysis (time and motion studies) in different environments including airports maintenance bases customer contact centers etc.
• Presenting compelling findings to business leaders leading to quantifiable improvements
• Helping develop new projects and opportunities through research and analysis

Whats needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Bachelors degree in Engineering Technology or Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent communications skills
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products and understanding statistical software (e.g. Minitab JMP etc.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration and teamwork
• Working knowledge of project management discipline
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship or future sponsorship for a full/parttime position.
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
• Must live in or willing to relocate to Houston TX

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

• Masters degree in Engineering Technology or Business Administration
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification from a recognized institution
• Experience with statistical software (Minitab JMP etc. and programming tools (SQL Visual Basic (VBA) etc.
